Perspective Clients:

Hello, my name is Scott Perkins, and I have 30 years of diverse experience in the real estate industry. For me, “diverse” is a genuine descriptor as I am considered an expert in all aspects of the real estate industry - residential (including multifamily and historic properties), commercial, industrial, vacant land, agriculture, and business and bulk sales - with a keen eye for investors, as an investor. Project management, construction management, and land management have all been careers for me in real estate development, public utility, and governmental lines of work.

In my youth, I worked in the construction field, building homes as well as working for family members who were heavily invested in real estate. After graduating from Chico State in 1995, I purchased my first home/investment in 1996. Though I was over my head with this 1908 Victorian converted into a duplex fixer, I powered forward! By 1998, I was moving onto my next fixer, another rundown classic built in 1880. By 2002, the portfolio was at 7 purchases (9 units).

In 1999, at the onset of the real estate boom, I was recruited by Teichert Construction. Initially, for Public Works projects, our manager quickly expanded their role, managing dozens of development projects spread out geographically over a half-dozen counties. Advancing the communities where we worked in such a positive manner turned out to be invaluable to me later in life and in my career.

Having worked with many builders and developers during the Teichert days, the natural progression for my career was to join them in meeting the housing needs of the Sacramento Valley. While at Beazer Homes, we produced over 2,000 units per year at the peak. The fast-paced, turn-key style model Beazer employed was very much a fit for me.

While gaining experiences only afforded by family companies like Dunmore Communities (Director of Land Development), my entrepreneurial spirit flourished and made for a smooth transition into forming what ultimately grew into three companies – The PLM Group, a consulting company, Oro Lake Constructors, a General Engineering and General Building company, and Perkins Realty, a real estate company.

As a local businessman and as a very civic-minded man, I am very involved in the communities where we live and serve. I was asked by many folks in my hometown to consider helping repair our local parks district. As GM I was responsible for all of the district’s real estate holdings within its 50 square mile boundary.

While at the parks district, I was encouraged to consider working at Pacific Gas and Electric. Having grown up in the PG&E Hydro world with many connections to PG&E since childhood, the opportunity to work in hydro and, more particularly, manage the watershed lands that I was so familiar with was an opportunity I could not pass up. To date, I’ve managed 10’s of 1,000s of acres associated with many reservoirs, conveyance systems, power houses which include many real estate uses.

My knowledge of engineering and construction practices has allowed me to review and comment from a high level. My background and experience in the field afford me the ability to explain the pros and cons of any investment opportunity.

I have had a passion for serving people and for all things real estate most of my life!
